A Morgan County Roads and Bridges employee found a red bag on the side of Dixie Highway that, authorities claim, contained marijuana and numerous narcotics including opioids.
According to Morgan County Sheriff’s Office reports, the employee contacted Morgan County Dispatch to report that the he had located a red bag, opened it and observed narcotics in the bag.
A Morgan County deputy said the bag was located off Dixie Highway near Double Bridges Road at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11.
The bag contained two clear plastic bags of suspected marijuana, a large orange plastic container with seven suspected Xanax pills, three suspected Oxycodone pills, a second plastic container with 19 suspected Xanax pills and a second Oxycodone pill.
The bag also contained an orange plastic container with two plastic bags inside. Inside the plastic bags where suspected Ecstasy pills.
According to Chief Deputy Keith Howard of the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, investigators have placed the bag and its contents into evidence.
“We are processing for evidence,” he said. “We want to see if we can match the contents to a person.”
