Funeral Services were held at 12 pm Saturday, January 9, 2021 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Reverend Selena Clark, Paster/Officiant. Interment followed the service in the Fairview City Cemetery in Madison,
Vickie Denise Williams Tolbert was born to Clarence Williams (deceased) and Betty Ruth Williams on March 4, 1962. She was the third of six children and was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Owens Williams and Derrick Lumpkin. On January 1, 2021, after a valiant fight, God called Vickie from labor to reward.
At an early age, she gave her life to Christ and joined St. Paul AME Church. Over the years, she became an active member in the church and served faithfully in various capacities, such as Finance Committee Chairperson, Vice-President of WMS, and a member of the Steward Board.
She was educated in the Morgan County School System. Vickie was employed over 20 years at Sweet Orr and worked several years for Charter Communications.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with family and friends. To many, she was affectionately known as Vickie Lou, Tha Lou, and Moose.
Vickie was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed. She leaves to mourn her passing, her devoted husband of 39 years, Gralin Tolbert; three daughters, Tarneisha Edwards, Natosha (Danny) Walker, and Antoinette (Tavorous) Thompson; one godson, Bashun Carter; her mother, Betty Ruth Williams; five grandchildren, Shanee Clark, Antonio Howell, Jr., Hailey Slappy, Mason Davenport, and Peyton Thompson; two great- grandchildren, Tristian Howell and X’zyion Clark; two sisters, Connie Carter and Virginia Butler; six brothers, Michael (Melissa) Chapman, Pastor Eddie M. (Stacy) Chapman, Jr., Elgin (Sonya) Chapman, Gary Lumpkin, Herbert Wade, and Hubert (Gerryline) Wade; two brothers-in-law, Calvin (Betty) Tolbert and Eddie (Mary) Tolbert; one sister-in-law, Dora Dean Tolbert; one uncle, Charles (Eva) Cartwright; a host of nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Ann Faith Adams; a special family friend, Jane Mize; her beloved four-legged son, “Tippur Tolbert”; and many other dear family and friends.
