Willie A. Thomas was born November 28, 1941. He was the eldest son of the late Elbert Perriman Thomas and Willie Martin Thomas. On January 31, 2021, God saw fit to call one of his children home.
Willie joined Mount Zion Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Mount Zion neighborhood schools. Eventually he was employed within the dairy industry and later owned a transportation company. In the year of 1963, he was blessed with a daughter (Carolyn) with Pearlie Randall. In 1966 he was united in marriage to Joyce Williams. Of this union he was blessed with a daughter, Freda. In 2001 he was united in marriage a second time with Marilyn Ballard. Of this union he had one daughter (Willi-Anne) and two sons (Michael and Tommy).
Willie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who cared deeply about his family and neighbors. He will be missed throughout the community.
Willie is survived by his wife (Marilyn Ballard of Madison, three daughters (Carolyn Russell of Camden, AR, and Freda Thomas and Willia-Anne Thomas both of Madison, Ga) two sons (Michael Thomas and Tommy Thomas both also of Madison, Ga.) Eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Four sisters, Elbert Bonner who preceded him in death, Thelma Releford of Buckhead, GA Viola Thomas who preceded him in death and Linda Washington of Jonesboro, GA. Four brothers Charles Thomas of Ellenwood, GA, Phillip Thomas of Lithonia, GA, Steve Thomas who preceded him in death and Lonnie Thomas (Cleo) of Decatur, GA. Two aunts Susie Perriman of Decatur, GA Gracie Wright of Buckhead, GA and a host of, other relatives and friends.
