Ellison Franklin Whitehead, Sr. of Madison died October 21, 2017.  He passed peacefully at his home.  Mr. Whitehead was born January 20, 1933 in Greene County to Hugh and Pauline Stone Whitehead.  He was married August 19, 1955 to Jane Goss.  Together they raised a son, Ellison Franklin Whitehead, Jr.  Mr. Whitehead was retired from Georgia Pacific, where he worked as a forester.  He was a longtime member of Beacon Heights Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.  Mr. Whitehead was an avid sports fan.  He especially enjoyed coaching …

The pens provide a comfortable, quiet space for individuals or families to meet and interact with their potential forever dog. The Humane Society also has an outdoor recreation space for animals to spend playtime together outdoors. Local residents and out-of-town visitors gathered in Rutledge’s “spooky” square for a day of magical family fun. Saffold, 77 of Buckhead, died October 9, 2017.  Tony was the son of the late Seaborn and Doris Jones Saffold.  He was born February 1, 1940 in Buckhead.  Tony served in the U.S. Air Force and later worked as a manager for Wellington-Puritan Mills.  Tony was a long-time member of Buckhead Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held for Vivian Marie Huff Hinckley at 11a.m. on October 21 at Swords Cemetery. Marie was born in Buckhead, on Dec 2, 1942 and died August 19, 2017 in Ormond Beach, Florida. She is survived by her children and their spouses Karen and Robert Palpant, and Rob and Elizabeth Hinckley, grandchildren Tessa and Larissa Gehringer and Vivian Hinckley, by her sisters and brothers: Bonnie Bubenheim, Jewell Thompson, Billy Huff and Michael Huff and their families.  The service will be handled by AE Carter Funeral Home.
