Residents along the Apalachee River in Bishop held a meeting Sunday, March 4, over frustrations about a proposed river intake facility to be built along the waterway. The facility would, in part, help fill the Hard Labor Creek Regional Reservoir, a 12 billion gallon reservoir constructed by Walton and Oconee counties at a cost more than $80 million. The reservoir is managed by Walton and Oconee counties. On March 4 Curtis Price, 28, North Augusta, S.C. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than an ounce. According to reports, Price was stopped on Interstate 20 for allegedly speeding. Consequent to the traffic stop, reports state, a deputy stated he smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Reports state that Price allegedly told the deputies that he had a small bag of marijuana in a backpack sitting on the rear floorboard. On Feb. 24 Noah Alexander Trammell, 21, Madison was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than an ounce. According to reports, officers were called to Flash Foods, Eatonton Road in regards to a man allegedly attempting to sell customers marijuana. A female caller advised officers that Trammell attempted to sell her marijuana and that she felt unsafe when she refused. Teen to be charged with Park armed robbery

Madison Police Department investigators on Monday, Feb. 26, secured an armed robbery warrant against a 16-year-old male suspected in the theft of a Dell laptop from another teen. According to Det. Wes Thompson, Madison Police Department, the warrants were secured from a Superior Court Judge. Thompson said the charge relates to an alleged theft that occurred on Jan. 14 at Madison’s Town Park. On Feb. 25 Dylan James Edwards, 19, Watkinsville, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than an ounce and safety belt violation. According to reports, a deputy reported that he allegedly observed Edwards driving a Ford pickup truck while not wearing a seatbelt. Consequent to the traffic stop, a deputy stated that he smelled marijuana coming from a vehicle. On Feb. 24 Kenneth Lee Youngblood, 53, Madison was arrested and charged with DUI refusal, failure to maintain lane and possession of open container. According to reports, officers responded to a complaint call regarding a possible drunk driver near the Hampton Inn, Eatonton Road area. When they arrived they allegedly observed Youngblood in a green Suzuki Sidekick fail to maintain lane. The Suzuki pulled into the Wal Mart parking lot. A Morgan County man faces several charges including false imprisonment and aggravated assault after he allegedly held a 61-year-old woman against her will in her Brownwood Road residence. Kenneth Lamar Reynolds, 43, Madison. was arrested on Sunday, Feb. 18 around 6 p.m. after Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brian Collins arrived at the Brownwood Road residence. A 16-year-old Madison teen alleged this week that another teen threatened him in Madison’s Town Park with a pistol and stole his laptop. According to Madison Police Department reports, the complainant alleged the incident occurred on Jan. 14. The juvenile said he did not alert his mother or authorities because he was “embarrassed.” Reports state that the teen alleged that while he was sitting on the stage at Town Park utilizing the city’s free Wi-Fi service, the second teen approached him and asked several times to borrow his laptop computer. …

After a week-long investigation, Morgan County and Putnam County authorities executed a fourth amendment probation search on a Bramblewood Drive residence and allegedly discovered a cache of drugs. On Monday, Jan. 22 at 8:40 p.m., authorities entered the Madison Villas Apartments residence of Jonie Loraine Whitlock, 40, Madison and, reports state, discovered suspected marijuana, Xanax, ecstasy pills, cash and methamphetamine. The marijuana, investigators said, appeared to be packaged for sale. On Feb. 11 a child custody complaint was filed at a Lake Shore Drive residence. According to reports, a man said when he arrived at the residence to collect his 7-year-old daughter at 4 p.m., he was told by his ex-wife’s father that the ex-wife and child had left the residence. The following persons were adjudicated during the criminal trial week. • Chadwick Taylor Armistead, 22, Madison pled guilty to one count possession of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to eight years probation and was fined $1,000. According to court records, Armistead was arrested on Sept. 9, 2016 by a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office investigator after the investigator and other officers executed a search warrant on a Parsonage Road. On Feb. 5 a warrant for burglary and obstruction was issued against Melissa Dawn Skomer, 33, unknown address. According to reports, a woman alleged that Skomer came to her Second Street, Bostwick residence at 6:30 a.m. and said she had been out in the cold all night. According to reports, a woman at Waffle House, Eatonton Road, alleged that at 1 a.m. after she left her IPhone 7 sitting on a counter Holland took the phone and left the restaurant. Massey and Willie Mae Shackleford Massey.  Mrs. Self was a member of First United Methodist Church of Madison. Oscar Rollin Thomason, 62 of Eatonton, died January 29, 2018.  Mr. Thomason was the son of the late, Robert Usher Thomason and Nancy Jane Pennington Thomason.  He was born October 16, 1955 in Covington.
