On Dec. 15 a disorderly conduct complaint was filed at a Hough Circle residence. According to reports, a woman alleged that her granddaughter had been assaulted by a group of girls. Reports state that an officer spoke with the granddaughter who identified one girl as an attacker. The other girls, she said, did not participate in the fight but watched. On Dec. 9 a trespass complaint was filed at a Cochran Road location. According to reports, a man stated that a woman he had brought to the residence to stay the night began drinking and created a series of disturbances. Reports state that the man alleged the woman woke up residents in the house because she was having trouble locating her purse. On Dec. 1 a theft by taking complaint was filed at a Micha Way residence. According to reports, a woman reported that someone had taken a package delivered to her front door from Bath and Body Works. The woman confirmed with FedEx that the package had been delivered on Dec. 1. The package contained approximately $80 worth of merchandise. Burglary victims recount friendship, man arrested

Morgan County investigators made a quick arrest that, authorities believe, may have prevented future burglaries. Joshua Nathan McCoy, 29, was arrested without incident on Nov. 30 at a Garden Avenue, Buckhead residence after authorities working leads garnered from local pawn shops allegedly made a connection between McCoy and two burglaries. According to Sgt. Brandon Sellers, Criminal Investigations Division, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, investigators were familiar with McCoy, in part, because he had been arrested two weeks prior to the burglaries on a financial transaction card theft after he allegedly used …

Months of surveillance and the execution of a state probation violation warrant ended with a Madison man charged with trafficking in cocaine charges. According to Sgt. Brandon Sellers, Criminal Investigations Division, Maurice Antonio Ingram, 25, was arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession and use of drug related objects and state probation violation after Morgan County authorities executed a warrant against Ingram at a Green Meadows Drive residence. A Madison man initially indicted on sexual charges alleging inappropriate relations with a minor pled guilty Monday to reduced charges of cruelty to children in the second degree. According to Morgan County Superior Court records, Monte Jay Franks, 48, pled guilty to the lesser charge before Ocmulgee Judicial District Superior Court Judge William Prior, Jr. Franks was sentenced to five years with the first 180 days to be spent in incarceration at the Morgan County Detention Center and the remainder of the sentence to be served on probation. An Alabama man with suspected synthetic marijuana was stopped and eventually arrested after officer poured through a vehicle in “complete disarray” following a citizen’s complaint. William Cornelius Adair, 40, Attalla Ala. was arrested and charged with felony possession of synthetic marijuana, felony tampering with evidence, possession of drug related objects, failure to maintain lane, no driver’s license and littering. On Nov.25 a tearing down mailboxes complaint was filed at a Pierce Dairy Road residence. According to reports, a man said both his and his neighbor’s mailboxes had been destroyed sometime between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. Reports state that the mailboxes, based on tire marks and skid marks, appeared to have been struck by a vehicle. According to reports, an employee reported that after a work break, another employee came onto the floor and accused the employee of instigating others to start a fight. According to reports, an employee reported that a man came into the store and initiated the purchase of five $100 Shell gift cards using a card. A Decatur man initially arrested for possession of marijuana charges now faces more serious charges after suspected heroin, methamphetamine and pills were located in his anal cavity. Calvin Lee Chege, 25, was charged Oct. 30 with three counts of possession of controlled substances, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, crossing guard lines with contraband and failure to maintain lane after a traffic stop on Interstate 20. A former Morgan County High School student arrested in March, 2018 after a text message she sent to six other students caused authorities to lock down Morgan County schools has been sentenced. Tysheannia Nicole Alexander, 18, Madison pled guilty to six counts of terroristic threats, one count of harassing communications and one count of disrupting a public school on Oct. 15 in Morgan County Superior Court. A couple was taken to jail after they allegedly disrupted a wedding at Variety Works by both yelling at the wedding party, allowing their dogs to relieve themselves at the front door of the wedding reception hall and throwing some type of liquid at the bride from a balcony.
