On July 14 a theft by taking and battery complaint was filed at Kwik Car Wash, Eatonton Road. According to reports,a Greensboro man stopped an officer in the middle of South Main Street near the car wash and alleged that a man he knew from his neighborhood and had taken his car, wallet and iPhone. On July 15 Corey Wright, 51, Madison was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, public drunkeness and disorderly conduct. According to reports, officers were dispatched to a call of a man refusing to leave a Mulgrave Drive apartment. When officers arrived, reports state, a woman alleged that Wright had become verbally abusive after she told him to leave and he refused to leave. On July 19 an arrest warrant for simple battery was issued against Wesley Rasun Bell, 30, Madison. According to reports, a woman alleged that during an argument regarding the woman driving to work, Bell became enraged and struck the woman in the head. By Patrick Yost Editor  Approximately 24 vehicles were burglarized on one night at two Morgan County subdivisions last week. According to Morgan County Sheriff’s Office reports, both Buckhead Manor and Whispering Lakes subdivisions had multiple car break-ins resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars in cash and the loss of at least four firearms. Reports state that on Friday, sometime between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. 17 vehicles in Whispering Lakes subdivision were entered. According to reports, officers were called to the Walmart parking lot at 9:47 a.m. regarding a silver Chrysler 300 that allegedly was being driven by a drunk driver. Reports state that the complainant reported she was following the two suspects who were in a black Honda. According to reports, a woman alleged that sometime between 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 4 and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 5 someone took 70 large bales of hay from her property. On June 27 Oscar Kelly Sasnett, 37, Marietta, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. According to reports, a woman at the Budget Inn, Eatonton Road, alleged that Sasnett, her “on and off again boyfriend” had kicked in her motel room door while she was at the store. According to reports, a Madison Police Department officer was dispatched to Walmart, Eatonton Road regarding a shoplifting suspect fleeing from employees in the parking lot. On June 8 Chad Anthony Eaton, 36, Buckhead was cited for criminal trespass and was served with a trespass notice for the Relax Inn, Athens Highway. According to reports, a deputy was called to the motel regarding someone who had damaged a room.
