On Aug. 24 a criminal trespass complaint was filed at a Micha Way residence. According to reports, a woman said that between 7:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. someone pushed in a window and, possibly, entered her apartment. Reports state that blinds were torn and a window screen was found on a bush under the damaged window. The woman said nothing appeared to be missing. On Aug. 26 a theft by taking complaint was filed at a Davis Academy Road, Rutledge residence. According to reports, a Morgan County deputy was contacted by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in regards to finding the owner of a truck that had been wrecked and abandoned in Oconee County. The deputy located the owner who told her that he had been spending time with a relative in an Athens hospital and did not realize his truck was missing. On Aug. 11 Grant Small, 31, White Plains was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, less than an ounce and improper lane change. According to reports, a Madison Police Department officer was contacted by Morgan County Dispatch regarding an erratic driver on Eatonton Road. The officer made contact with a vehicle matching the description and, reports state, observed the vehicle making lane changes without signaling. On Aug. 18 William Riley Downs, Jr., 46, Madison was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts. According to reports, Downs allegedly walked from Commerce Street to a Clack Road residence, apparently, to confront a man regarding sexual battery complaint’s Down’s girlfriend had made. Reports state that Downs arrived at approximately 6:30 p.m. with a 40 ounce alcoholic drink in his hand and walked out of the bushes near the Clack Road residence and confronted a man. On July 26 Matthew Compton, 36, Madison, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, shoplifting and open container. According to reports, an officer was called to the Exxon convenience store on Monticello Highway regarding a customer allegedly attempting to steal a gas can. On Aug. 4 a damage to property complaint was filed at a Buckhead Road residence. According to reports, a man alleged that a neighbor had damaged part of his property, including trees, with a bulldozer while clearing land. Reports state that the complainant showed a deputy property markers that had been damaged or removed by an earth mover. According to reports, an employee alleged that three males took three gift cards from the main cashier area of the store and went to the garden center. The men then had the cashier at the garden center activate the card and while the cashier was distracted one of the men punched a “cash out” button on the register, closing the transaction and making the stolen gift cards active. According to reports,Young allegedly slapped a 70-year-old woman and grabbed her by the chin as the woman was attempting to answer medical questions at a doctor’s office.
